February 15 size

During a fit of boredom today, I measured the turtles.

Measuring the length of their carapace they are:
2 and 11/16 inches – Rex
2 and 1/2 (2 and 8/16) inches – Cinderella

They’ve grown in the past two months…the growth rates have slowed, but it hasn’t stopped.  And it won’t for a while.

It’s AG’s birthday. Happy birthday my AG!!!

During routine tank maintenance today, I measured the turtles.

Measuring the length of their carapace they are:
2 and 3/8 (6/16) inches – Rex
2 and 1/4 (2 and 4/16) inches – Cinderella

They both grew since the last measurement. Cool!!

I really hate to see them grow up so fast and wish they could stay hatchlings forever. At the same time though, I can’t wait till they’re 4″ so we can tell whether they are male or female and whether we’ll have to rename them.

During routine tank maintenance today, I measured the turtles.

Measuring the length of their carapace they are:
2 and 5/16 inches – Rex
2 and 1/8 (2 and 2/16) inches – Cinderella

Cinderella hasn’t grown in the three weeks since my last measurement.  It’s pretty weird since her carapace felt a bit pyramided.  Rex’s was fine though.

During routine tank maintenance yesterday, I measured them…

Measuring the length of their carapace they are:
2 and 1/4 (2 and 4/16) inches – Rex
2 and 1/8 (2 and 2/16) inches – Cinderella

Sometime in early November, they started being fed every other day as they are no longer hatchlings (below 2″).

Me and AG cleaned aquarium today and measured their size.

Rex is growing by leaps and bounds, Cinderella is slowly chugging along. They’re both growing so fast, the 5-gallon tank is going to be too small for them much sooner than expected…gotta start thinking more about the (around) 200 gallon tank soon…

Measuring the length of their carapace they are:
1 and 3/4 inches (1 and 12/16) – Rex
1 and 1/2 inches (1 and 8/16)- Cinderella

Since I did a total aquarium cleaning and threw out the pebbles (gravel) today, I also measured the turtles.

Measuring the length of their carapace they are:
1 and 9/16 inches – Rex
1 and 7/16 inches – Cinderella

They are growing!!

Rex quickly outgrew Cinderella when we first got them.  His shell is pyramiding, which means that his shell is unusually large, his head is bigger, and he’s a fat turtle.  He eats most of the food, including Cinderella’s share.  We will start decreasing the amount of food that Rex gets and we will also feed them separately.  Hopefully Rex’s shell normalizes and Cinderella eats more.

I measured Rex and Cinderalla for the first time on September 14.

Measuring the length of their carapace (shell) they are:
1.5 inches (1 and 8/16th) – Rex
1 and 5/16 inches – Cinderella

When we first got them Cinderella was the bigger one. Since she hasn’t been eating as much as Rex, Rex just grew much faster and is now the bigger of the two.
